His technical understanding of film and artistic insight have embodied special photographic accomplishments for feature films such as "Spiderman 2 & 3”, “Superman Returns” and “Crimson Tide”.  Besides capturing breathtaking aerials, high-speed and underwater photography, Mr. Dickson, with his father, James Dickson, have together redesigned the Circlevision camera process sought-after by visual-effects companies for use in technologically advanced photography in such films as "Surrogates," "The Matrix: Reloaded," "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and "The Fast and the Furious."

Mr. Dickson's affinity for collaboration led to producing, including the mockumentary “Cook Off!” which premiered at the 2007 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival sponsored by HBO in Aspen, Colorado.  His love of music and the arts is the soul of many projects.  He directed and produced, with the help of Viggo Mortensen, a feature-length documentary about the L.A.-based poetry group, The Carma Bumbs, entitled “Luxurious Tigers of Obnoxious Agreement” (2001) and shot “Off the Charts: The Song Poem Story” (2003).  In 2004, he shot and helped produced  “Welcome to Nollywood,” a film based on the growing Nigerian film industry which has aired on PBS. During his time in Nigeria, he began a passionate work in progress, “Fela Lives,” a documentary underlining the musical accomplishments of the late Fela Kuti and his son, Seun, who strides to continue that legacy.  “Inside the Zeitgeist,” was shot during the making of the Smashing Pumpkins’ latest album of the same name and was released in 2008 by Warner Bros. Records and Martha’s Music.  In 2009, he produced and served as Director of Photography on two features, "Everything Will Happen Before You Die" and "Charm Bracelet." Both films are in post-production and expect to be released in 2010.

Mr. Dickson has directed numerous music videos for Warner Bros. Records, Interscope Records and Capitol Records for such artists as Billy Corgan, Shelby Lynne, and Josh Groban.  He directed and photgraphed Zwan’s music videos "Lyric" “Honestly”  with "Honestly" being nominated by the Music Video Producers Association’s as “Best Music Video of the Year” in 2004.  His latest music video photography was for apl.de.ap's (of Black Eyed Peas fame) "Take U 2 the Philippines" - a collaboration with We Are Royale.  The music video is featured on the Philippine Department of Tourism website, www.awesomephilippines.com

In addition, his amazing commercial credits highlight multi-national brands including Mercedes-Benz, Hilton Hotels, NASCAR, and The Cartoon Network.  His most-viewed photography on television is the opening credit sequence of the hit NBC television sitcom, “Friends”.

Years of creative excellence have been honored with BDAs for his cinematography on a Borgess Health Alliance commercial and the Pro Sieben’s show opening. In 2008, his Toyota interstitial commercial on the network SiTV garnered him a Bronze Promax Award for Best Direction.

In 2008, Mr. Dickson embarked upon directing narratives.  He was hired to direct his feature film debut “Red Velvet,” starring Henry Thomas and Kelli Garner, which has gained critical acclaim among horror genre fans and bloggers. The film began an exclusive U.S. release on Amazon.com in October, 2009.
